Tonight we are putting up for sale something a little different and what we have here is A RARE CAST IRON WIRELESS STILL BANK IN THE SHAPE AND STYLE OF THE LAST CENTURY BANKS, COMPLETE WITH PILLARS..........
THE BANK HAS A CAST IRON FRAME WITH WOODEN AND TIN SIDES, THE BOTTOM AND TOP ARE BOTH STEEL, AND THE BANK IS DATED IN 3 PLACES.....Patented MAR 11 1912..Nov 10 1914..Dec 19 1916.Sept 24.1918.......so I assume different parts were released and assembled on different dates......
THE BANK HAS A BATTERY COMPARTMENT AND RUNS ON 1 D CELL BATTERY.....BUT HONESTLY I DON'T KNOW WHAT IT DOES.......
I looked online and the first battery operated toys came out about 1910, so this has got to be one of the first battery operated toys on the market.......
The bank measures 5" High by 4" Wide by 6 1/2" in size....and would look great in any still bank collection......The bank shows the original chipping of the paint, and is in great shape with the exception that the battery cover is missing......
The new owner will pay shipping of $13.85 within the lower 48 states with overseas and out of the country shipping to be determined by location...
